Financial Opportunity Centers

Getting ahead is hard, and the City of Boston understands. The City, in conjunction with the generous help of the United Way and Local Initiative Support Corporation, is now offering combined, comprehensive services for personal wealth building to help you reach your personal financial dreams. At several different locations in Boston you can now get free financial coaching, help with getting a job, or access and strategies to obtain a better job. And if you need help with benefits like getting your taxes done, signing up for health care or SNAP (food stamps), or finding housing—we can help with that too.

Through two new locations, the Roxbury Center for Financial Empowerment and the Jewish Vocational Service Center for Economic Opportunity, eligible Bostonians can sign up to receive long-term help that can give them access to a personal financial coach, a career specialist and access to a whole menu of additional resources. To get started, all you need to do is come into the Center in Dudley Square or JVS downtown on Winter Street and receive an orientation. If you decide this is something you want to pursue and you have the time and motivation for a long term relationship with the team to identify and work towards your goals—please come see us!
