Sasha Abby VanDerzee comes to her new role as Boston Saves’ senior program manager with more than 15 years of experience in program design and management. Just as important, she is already a committed supporter of Boston Saves! For the past year, Abby VanDerzee has served as a Family Champion, volunteering to promote the program to families at the Mendell Elementary School in Roxbury where she is a BPS parent.

“We are delighted to have Sasha join the Boston Saves team,” said Constance Martin, deputy director of the Mayor’s Office of Financial Empowerment. “Her work experience and enthusiasm will be valuable as we continue to engage with Boston Saves families to save for their children’s futures.”

Having earned a Ph.D in education from Northeastern University with a focus on Organizational Leadership & Communication, Abby VanDerzee previously created and managed the tutorial program for City on a Hill Charter Public Schools. She is also the board president of Company One Theatre, a social justice-focused theater company.

Boston Saves is a program of the Mayor’s Office of Financial Empowerment.
